Introduction

Diagram of LymphoedemaLymphatics drain the tissue spaces of almost every tissue in the body.
Fluid, protein and cells enter blind-ended initial lymphatics from where they enter the muscular collecting ducts that propel the lymph through a series of lymph nodes (or glands) and eventually enter the bloodstream where the thoracic duct joins the subclavian vein.
